MycoIndia covers various aspects of mycology, including the discovery, cultivation, characterization, description, identification, classification, metabolites, and nomenclature of fungi. The journal focuses on exploring terrestrial, aquatic, and atmospheric habitats in India and neighboring regions, particularly those that are under-explored. This commitment promotes research in diverse ecosystems and contributes to a better understanding of fungal biodiversity in these regions. The journal also includes manuscripts on lichens, broadening its scope to include studies on lichen diversity, ecology, taxonomy, and related topics.
Well-prepared manuscripts can be submitted to contact.mycoindia@gmail.com. Authors should include a cover letter, declarations on authorship and conflicts of interest/competing interests, main text, figures, tables, references, acknowledgments, and supplementary materials. No specific format is required during the initial submission, allowing authors to submit their manuscripts in a format that best represents their research findings.
Initial Examination
Upon submission, manuscripts undergo an initial examination by the Editorial Office to assess quality and check for issues such as plagiarism, data manipulation/fabrication, image manipulation, multiple submissions, or redundant publication. Manuscripts with serious issues will be returned to authors.
Assignment to Handling Editor
Manuscripts that pass the initial check are assigned to a Handling Editor, who oversees the peer-review process.
Reviewer Invitation
The Handling Editor invites reviewers who are experts in the relevant field to evaluate the manuscript. Reviewers assess the novelty, methodology, and scientific claims presented. Upon request, reviewer identities may be revealed to the authors.
Reviewer Reports
Reviewers provide expert opinions, comments, and recommendations. The Handling Editor compiles these reports along with their own evaluation.
Editorial Decision
The Handling Editor forwards reviewer reports and recommendations to the Editorial Office. The Editor-in-Chief or Managing Editor makes the final decision, which may be:
Revision and Final Acceptance
If revisions are required, authors will be notified and given the opportunity to address reviewers’ comments. Final acceptance depends on the satisfactory completion of revisions.
Decision Communication
Authors are informed of the final decision within 8-10 weeks, although this timeline may vary.
Status Inquiry
If no response is received within 60 days, authors may contact the Editorial Office at [contact email] to inquire about their submission.
Revision and Resubmission
Authors are given 30 days to revise and resubmit manuscripts. A point-by-point response to reviewers’ comments must be provided. Formatting instructions will be given for the revision stage.
Final Decision
Authors receive the final decision within 2-4 weeks after resubmission. Additional rounds of review may be required before a final decision is made.
Final Proof
After acceptance, the MycoIndia production team emails the final proof to the corresponding author for review before publication.
Minor Corrections
Authors should carefully review the proof for typographical errors and minor formatting issues. Corrections must be returned within the specified time frame.
Major Corrections
Major changes at this stage require editorial approval and may delay publication. Authors are advised to address such issues earlier in the process.
Papers published in MycoIndia will be available on the journal’s website, https://mycoindia.org/
Corresponding authors will be notified via email upon publication.
Free Access
MycoIndia follows an open-access model, allowing free access and downloads of published papers from the journal’s website.
Corrections or amendments to published papers can be made through a corrigendum. If errors are identified, the corresponding author should contact the Editorial Office. The corrigendum will state the necessary corrections and be published in a subsequent issue.
By ensuring a transparent corrigendum policy, MycoIndia maintains the integrity and credibility of its published content.
